An Evening with Peter Brock – Thursday April 23rd, 5:30 PM

The Concours d’Elegance of Chicago presents:

An Evening with Peter Brock

Designer of the Corvette Sting Ray and the Shelby Daytona Coupe

 Thursday April 23rd, 5:30 PM

Portrait of Peter Brock

Everybody knows Peter Brock for a different reason.  To historic Corvette fans he’s the guy who helped pen the lines of the original ’59 Sting Ray Racer for GM’s VP of Design, Bill Mitchell and by extension the production version of the famed 1963 “split window” Corvette coupe.

To Cobra fans, Brock’s the guy who took the brick-like Shelby Cobra roadster and turned it into the slippery Cobra Daytona Coupe – the first American car to beat out the European regulars and grab the FIA’s GT World Championship in 1965. In 2014 that car won the International Historic Vehicle Association’s prestigious “Most Important Car of the Year” award in London.

Among other topics, Peter will discuss how American and European design ideas and philosophies, especially with the advent of aerodynamics, influenced his design work. There will be a question and answer session after the presentation.

The Concours d’Elegance of Chicago and Cooper Technica, Inc. are proud to host An Evening with Peter Brock.
